Privacy Policy

Thank you for using Trazo (the "App"). We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how the App handles your data. In short: all your bookkeeping data is stored on your own device. We have no servers and do not collect, upload, or sell your personal data.

1. Data we do NOT collect

• The App has no account and no login; it never asks for your name, email, or phone number.
• All your records (amounts, items, categories, trips, split contacts, locations, photos, etc.) are stored only in your device's local storage, never sent to our servers (we have none), and never shared with us or any third party.
• The App uses no advertising or behavioral tracking / analytics, and does not build a user profile.

2. Device permissions

• Location: used only when you actively "record a location" for an expense, to plot your footprints on the map. Location data stays on your device.
• Camera / Photos: used only when you actively attach a photo to an expense or pick a recent photo. Photos are stored in the App's private space on your device (you may also choose to save to your album), and are never uploaded.

3. Third-party services

To provide maps, place search, and currency conversion, the App makes necessary requests to the following services when you use those features. These requests do not contain personally identifiable information:

• Map tiles (OpenFreeMap, map data © OpenStreetMap): to display the map, it sends the coordinates of the map area you are currently viewing to load tiles.
• Place search & reverse geocoding: on iOS it primarily uses Apple Maps (MapKit); when unavailable, it falls back to OpenStreetMap Nominatim and Photon (komoot). It sends your search string or query coordinates to obtain place names.
• Exchange rates (open.er-api.com): only retrieves reference rates of currencies against the US dollar; no personal or bookkeeping data is sent.

These third parties each have their own privacy policies, which apply when data reaches their servers. We send only the minimum data needed for display.

4. Location & Maps

When you choose to tag a place for an expense or use map search, the App sends your current coordinates in real time to map service providers (OpenStreetMap's geocoding and map-tile services) to obtain the corresponding place name and map view. This happens only while you use those features and only for that request; we do not store your coordinates, build any location history, or use them for advertising or tracking. Your expense records, amounts, and photos always stay on your device. If you do not use location or maps, the App sends no location data at all.

5. Data sharing

When you actively use features such as "Export CSV" or "Share Postcard / Payment Card", the content is handed via the iOS system share sheet to an app or recipient you choose. We never handle or store this content.

6. Data retention & deletion

• You can delete any record, trip, or photo within the App at any time.
• Removing (deleting) the App deletes all data stored on your device. Since data exists only on your device, we cannot (and do not) keep any backup.

7. Children's privacy

The App is not directed at children and does not collect any personal data.

8. Changes to this policy

If there are material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date on this page.
